Why choose me to represent you?

I am intensely passionate about criminal justice advocacy and take my job very seriously. Anyone who has worked with me would tell you that I am honest, hard-working and “a fighter.” I understand that if you are coming to me for services or advice, you are likely experiencing some degree of difficulty or stress in your life. I take pride in the empathy I exhibit to my clients, as well as my experience with various kinds of criminal cases.

I am confident that you will feel well-represented if you choose to hire me.

What is my experience?

I have been practicing criminal defense in Montana for five years and have worked on over 1,000 criminal cases in that time. Additionally, I have notable trial experience, with acquittals in both felony and misdemeanor courts. I have represented clients through all kinds of criminal charges, including traffic offenses, DUI charges, drug offenses, sexual intercourse without consent charges, assault charges, deliberate homicide charges, and almost everything in between.

Outside of my criminal defense experience, I have represented dozens of clients in their Involuntary Commitment cases. I have represented clients in proceedings for Orders of Protection and Expungements. I have also been a team member of a Treatment Court and have extensive experience navigating clients’ substance use disorders and mental health disorders.

I have practiced or am currently practicing in the following counties: Lewis and Clark, Jefferson, Yellowstone, Carbon, Broadwater, Powell, Cascade, Phillips and Gallatin.

For the first three years of my career as a licensed attorney, I was employed with the Office of the Public Defender. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, I was an intern at a civil law firm, and also completed my clinical rotation with the Legal Department at Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

What are my educational credentials?

I am a Montana high school graduate and I attended the University of Great Falls, where I obtained my Bachelor’s in Biology. I attended law school at both Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and the University of Montana in Missoula, where I graduated with my Juris Doctor. Go Griz!

What do I do when I’m not in court?

As a Montanan, I am an avid explorer of our beautiful state and public lands. I thoroughly enjoy hiking our local trails in Helena or venturing into the Bob Marshall Wilderness to do some fly fishing. You may also find me whitewater rafting with my family in Idaho from time to time, or taking it easy on the lake on my paddle board. I enjoy visiting our incredible Montana ski resorts when it’s above 0º and the wind isn’t blowing me off of the chair lift. If I’m not doing something outside, I will find some live music or some dinner with my friends.

My favorite hobby, however, is doing anything which involves my two dogs, Gypsy and Milo.
